What a busy week it has been. The kids went to the dentist this week and Olivia had two firsts....her first loose tooth (which the dentist gave her a "tooth box" for) and her first cavity. She does not seem that nervous about the fact that she will get a shot of medicine in her mouth. She asked me "Will it hurt?" and I said "yes" to which she replied, "OK". My brave little girl.
Olivia left on Thursday for a few days at Grandma Dianes. I dropped her off and felt lucky that I even got a goodbye! She gave me a quick kiss and hug and then she was off. She helped grandma at work yesterday and today and got to ride on the fork lift. I called her this morning to see how her night was and she was too busy to talk! That is my girl. She was having lunch with Grandpa Joe today like I did when I was a kid and then maybe a movie this afternoon. Im so happy she is having fun but it is weird not having her at home. Jacob spent all night last night asking "where sissy at?". He is enjoying having mom and dad to himself though. He and Daddy went fishing and to a grill out at the Coralville reservoir tonight while I am at work. Tomorrow they are going for a "guys day" in Charles City. Josh's dad and two uncles will be at his Grandma's house. I bet they have a great time.
Since I have been working in the ER Josh has had to do more night time daddy duty and the other night while he was making dinner Olivia decided to "paint" Jacob with mud. Josh said they asked for a cup to play outside with and he thought that would be fine. (All mothers in the audience know we would have asked exactly what they planned to do with it). They promptly filled it with mud and water and painted Jacob. As mad as Josh should have been its pretty hard to be upset when Jacob is this happy and cute.

We have 3 weeks left until Olivia starts school. We are going to try to stay busy. Josh and I are going to take just her to Adventureland in a couple of weeks. So hard to believe we are having so many firsts this month, first loose tooth, first stay away from home (when we are still home) and first time to school. I think Im adjusting well, but we will see!!
